Now more than ever, we are facing a global water crisis. Increased water demand from a growing population and global health pandemic is paradoxically being met with climate-related water scarcity, flooding, rising sea levels, water quality challenges, and inadequate or aging infrastructure. Specifically in the US, water and wastewater utilities face a myriad of issues including water affordability, an aging workforce, and governance complexities. The Water Center at Penn is dedicated to solving these issues through collaborative, cross-disciplinary research that provides innovative solutions and helps attract the next generation of leaders to the water sector. Our independent research and programming are made possible through the generous support of donors.
